Coding
- Fixed MLflow
log_model
with the help of the DagsHub Discord server - The DagsHub documentation/implementation of this is a little weird:
-
- It will not show the artifacts under the DagsHub repo UI, including not in the DagsHub experiments UI
- Instead, you need to go to the .mlflow link for your repo (for MeaLeon)
-
- Fixed MLflow

DONE fix StreamDeck mute button
-
DONE Templatize logseq notes for each stream
-
TODO add mlflow login stuff to encrypted secrets in github
- GitHub Action for testing is currently failing because it cannot authenticate.
- How to make so that the automated CI/CD work can work but also so that collaborators use their own credentials to login?

From Chat/Derail
- From #hittaus, a prompt for StableDiffusion "when the time dies at quarter past zero o’clock"
- There was a post in r/datascience talking about "stopping" OpenAi and their efforts, but Crono thinks it’s too little too late and it was obvious where things were going years ago
- Also, don’t trust Elon
- #hittaus used GPT-4 to make a new low discrepancy sequence generator (eg a Halton Sequence)
- Optuna uses this and it may be a good idea to use this first before running TPE sampler
- another sequence often used is called Sobol: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sobol_sequence, but it’s a bit more "deterministic" looking, and places sometimes points very close to each other. But halton and sobol are almost as effective as far as I know
- GPT-4 did make a couple of mistakes while we went through the motions, and finally I had to understand calculations of hyperdimensions and rotations in them to make it actually work. But seemed it actually worked. And was performant enough. Now, if I would be a scientist there would be all the real work ahead: investigate suboptimal cases, writing the paper, all the plots…
- Comparison of sequences
- free tip to wise people of the channel. Easy to use tool to work with web pages with GPT-4: https://dust.tt/xp1 when you click on the extension you can write the prompt, but adding [[ in prompt allows you to select and refer to one of the open tabs. You can add multiple tabs into the prompt. Normal prompting available so you can ask it to summarize or find info, or check facts, or whatever

- #lattjor "I hear a lot of people saying that junior tech devs are no longer necessary"
- I think this is a hot take, we always need more junior devs, as they will eventually become mid and senior devs
- I think the more experience one gets, the more likely you’ll have to deal with problems that GPT cannot solve
- Nick Wan used ChatGPT to try to complete a Kaggle challenge
